Citrus Heights police arrest suspected major pot dealer

This was more than a marijuana seizure. It was a marijuana haul.

The Citrus Heights Police Department said a special enforcement team has recovered at least 858 pounds of marijuana, $464,850 in cash, seven firearms, high capacity magazines and ammunition during an ongoing investigation. The team includes Citrus Heights and Folsom police officers as well as Sacramento County probation officers,

The seizures began April 9 when the enforcement team pulled over a car driven by Jeremy Zahn on Oak Avenue. Zahn, 31, was on post-release community supervision (PRCS).

Detectives documented finding 48 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale in the back seat of Zahn's car. Zahn was arrested for transportation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and violation of his PRCS conditions, police said. He was booked into Sacramento County Jail.

A student who brought a BB gun to school is accused of threatening a classmate because of his race.

Hunter Langley, 12, says he got the scare of his life Monday while in an after-school program at Dudley Elementary in Antelope.

One of his classmates, who he says has constantly bullied him, pulled a BB gun out of his backpack.

"All he said was he was going to shoot me because of my color," Langley said, referring to the color of his skin. Langley is Caucasian. The victim's family says the bully is African American but doesn't know why he's been picking on their son.

Langley was terrified to tell school administrators about the incident. He told his mom afterward.

How Fleming hid from law enforcement for 16 days

ELK GROVE - When investigators revealed Friday that murder suspect Orville "Moe" Fleming had essentially been hiding under a bush for two weeks -- close to where law enforcement began its manhunt -- it was hard for many to believe.

However, a tour of the dense vegetation in the field next to an Elk Grove neighborhood, near Apricot Woods Way and Black Kite Drive, showed plenty of potential hiding places for 55-year-old Fleming.

The grassy, weeded fields used to be 14-year-old Logan Black's playground, but after Elk Grove police found Fleming's Cal Fire truck abandoned nearby on May 1, Logan's parents kept the boy clear of the area.

"We stayed away for a little. I was kind of scared to go down here," Logan said.
